The name Ruby is taken from a rare and precious gem

normally found in the Sub-Sahara part of Africa. The stone represents a sense of elegance and unflawed beauty, characteristics normally associated with the African continent as a whole.

In certain cultures the gem is believed to represent loyalty, endurance and success. After discovering the meaning of the gem and its unique qualities the founders of Ruby decided to name their business Ruby Homes, mostly because they felt they could identify these qualities in themselves.
